Using Fire with Students

Please join us at Marion Cross School in Norwich, VT at the Shelter in the Milt Frye Nature Area. Our Outdoor Learning Educator, Chrissy Morley, is going to show us how to start a fire with flint and steel. We are planning to have a fire, warm drinks, and an opportunity to explore ways to use fire safely with students.

Come anytime between 4:00 and 5:30 on Thursday, December 4th and jump right in! Everyone is welcome!

Transition to Colder Months!

We will meet at South School in Rockland to see the new outdoor spaces they are developing (dress to be outdoors!). Then we will warm up inside and have some time to chat about how we make the transition to chillier weather with our students.

We will start outside on the pre-k playground on Holmes St.

Fall Hike

Join us to reconnect! It's been a minute. Calling all educators, pre-service teachers or anyone who would like to connect! Our Delaware Chapter of Inside-Outside has been on sabbatical, but we are BACK!

We will be taking a hike in Alapocas Woods in Wilmington. (Please park by the Brandywine Zoo or Rose Garden in Wilmington, DE. ) We are hoping to meet some new educators and also see those we have spent time with before. Let's enjoy the beautiful fall weather together and take in the colors as we gather and share our stories of nature-based teaching and learning.

STEM in Nature: Fall-Based Experiments and Observations

~ Simple science activities like measuring daylight changes, observing frost formation, or testing how leaves decompose. ~

Our chapter meetings are a time to come together as professionals in the field and for professionals outside the field, including families and caregivers who are looking for inspiration, to get a nature-based program started in their community or at their home! We share inspiration, challenges, success stories and much more.

This is our Central MA Community, building nature-based integration across all communities... for whoever wants to join!
